What is iovera°?

iovera° is a handheld device that provides targeted, long-lasting pain relief through cryoneurolysis. Cryoneurolysis is the freezing of the signal-carrying parts of a nerve.

The iovera° system creates a “cold zone” that blocks nerve signals and immediately reduces pain without the use of drugs and without permanently damaging nerves.

Who is an appropriate patient for iovera°?

OA knee pain

  • Patients with moderate OA chronically cycling through NSAIDs, injections, and opioids

Pre-TKA prehabilitation and TKA rehabilitation and recovery

  • Patients who are planning for TKA surgery and want to recover and rehab with targeted pain relief
  • Patients who hesitate or wish to delay surgery (eg, until after an event or season)
  • Patients concerned with pain limiting their postsurgical rehabilitation
  • Patients with risk factors that need to be addressed prior to TKA
  • Patients determined not to be surgical candidates (eg, high risk)
