The Center for Spine and Orthopedics celebrated “National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” by inviting employees to bring their children to the office for a packed day of learning about all aspects of operating a medical practice, including patient care.
The day started with a pancake breakfast and team building activities, followed by a tour of the facility and adjacent Musculoskeletal Surgery Center. Children visited every CSO department and learned about the different jobs and what it takes to run a doctors office. The day wrapped up with a brief session on muscular and skeletal anatomy and they even got to try their hand at some surgical knot tying as well as using some of the surgical tools under the microscope. Last but not least, a few scientific STEM experiments. CSO parents, Nichole Holdren, Patient Liaison, and Lisa Schumacher, IT, spearheaded the program and lead the activities.
