Nurse practitioner Annette Johnson joined the Center of Spine and Orthopedics’ Pain Management Team on September 1. Annette specializes in the treatment and care of chronic pain patients. She is licensed in Colorado and board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Annette earned two advanced degrees – a post-master’s certification as a nurse practitioner in adult geriatric primary care nursing from Maryville University and a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is a certified nephrology nurse (CNN) and renal nurse educator. She has performed home health assessments and practiced in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities.
During her nurse practitioner program, Annette precepted 250 hours with Jacque Carbone, ACNP/CNS, MSN, BSN, RN, at the Center for Spine and Orthopedics prior to joining the practice. Her goal is to help her patients function at a level that allows them to enjoy “the great gift of life.” Annette’s skills include health and pain assessments; taking health histories; diagnosing patients; screening for depression and dementia; and administering injections. Annette also has 35 years of ministry co-leadership experience, addressing a variety of spiritual development matters.
Originally from Fountain, CO, Annette returned to Colorado four years ago from Washington State. She has been married 38 years and has three adult children plus two dogs. She and her husband enjoy exploring national parks and wildlife viewing.
