The 2023 Ironman 70.3 in Boulder, Colorado was well represented and supported by a combination of the Center for Spine Orthopedics, the Snowy Mountain Brewery, and the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort.  The Ironman 70.3 is a 1.2-mile swim, followed by a 56-mile bike ride, followed by a 13.1-mile run.  We had a solo team of Mike Olson, who competed in all three events and is qualified to participate in the World Championship in Finland, this August.  Additionally, we formed several separate relay teams, including one led by CSO Founder Dr. Mike Janssen and Physician Assistant Rachel Cengia, with achieved an impressive time of five hours and 55 minutes.  Also, Dr. Madisen Janssen competed with our spine fellow Dr. Ezra Levy, and former Nurse Practitioner Ruth Beckham teamed up with Jim Nelson.  At the end of the day, we were able to proudly showcase the athletes here at CSO, along with 2,500 other competitors from throughout Colorado and an estimated 10,000 spectators.

From now we’ll be moving on to train for the Triple Bypass Event, going 13,000 plus vertical feet, over 120 plus miles from Denver to Vail, Colorado in mid-July, followed by going to Finland for the World Championships, where Mike Olson will be representing CSO and the Snowy Mountain Brewery in August.  All teams will be competing again in September for the Ironman 70.3 in Cozumel, Mexico.
