I would say it took 2-3 years for the nerve pain to recover completely, but today I have no residual side effects and am forever in awe that I even have titanium in my neck.

I regret waiting 10 years experiencing on-again, off again agonizing pain before I was brave enough to have surgery, if I hadn’t waited so long, the disc wouldn’t have become completely blown out and attached to a nerve.
