Dr. Eric Kuhlman, a podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon, presented a lecture on “Diabetic Charcot Neuroarthropathy” on September 15 during the Center for Spine and Orthopedics (CSO) most recent virtual Continuing Medical Education (CME) lecture.

Almost 80 physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and physical therapists logged on to Zoom to listen to Dr. Kuhlman’s lecture. “The lecture was amazing,” says Dawn Moon, NP, South Point Healthcare. “I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about Charcot. It will certainly help me in my practice,”

Prior to the start of each CME lecture, CSO hosts a 15-minute virtual wine and beer tasting. Dr. Kevin Downs, a retired physician and sommelier at Wyatt Wet Goods, leads the tasting. The beer and wine samples are delivered to participants prior to the lecture.

The lecture on “Diabetic Charcot Neuroarthropathy” was CSO’s fifth virtual CME event in the practice’s 2021 Virtual Spine and Orthopedic Educational Lecture Series for healthcare providers, which is co-sponsored by Health Images. Participants receive 1 CME credit for each hour they participate. Providers who are not available on the evening of the lecture may request the Zoom recording of the lecture to earn one CME credit.

CSO’s next virtual CME lecture will be presented on Wednesday, November 10. Oscar Noel, DO, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, will speak on “Total Hip Replacement: An Anterior Approach.” Education is a key part of the Center for Spine and Orthopedics’ mission. In addition to CME education for healthcare providers, physicians at the Center for Spine and Orthopedics also offer community lectures for the general public on various spine and orthopedics conditions and treatments, including non-operative care.
