Jacqueline Carbone is a highly experienced acute care nurse practitioner that specializes in the holistic care of people with chronic pain. She is licensed in Colorado and board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Jacque earned two master’s degrees—one in acute care/geriatric nursing and one as a clinical specialist in geriatrics—from Georgetown University. She is certified in counseling chronic pain patients. She has cared for orthopedic, geriatric cardiology, acute and intensive care patients in hospitals, clinics, and private practice. Jacque joined the Center for Spine and Orthopedics in September 2018. She works collaboratively with Dr. George Leimbach and Dr. Paul Leo to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
In 2019, Jacque co-authored the Colorado Hospital Association’s Opioid Reduction and Safety Initiative for the State of Colorado, resulting in the CO CURE (Clinicians United to Resolve the Epidemic) program. The programs entails limiting opioid use; using alternatives to opioids for treating pain; implementing harm reduction strategies; and improving the treatment of patients with Opioid Use Disorder. The program is currently being piloted in clinical settings across Colorado.
